    How can a customer request a refund from a merchant?

    Customers can call or email the merchant’s support line. Alternatively, a Refund button (using the SWOOSHRefund API) can be added to your website for immediate requests.

    How does a customer follow up on an existing refund request?

    Customers can call or email the merchant’s support team for updates on their refund status.

    What notifications will customers receive?

    Once the refund is processed, customers will get a “standard banking notification” confirming the deposit.

    Can merchants opt out of using ABSA Pay?

    Yes, merchants can opt out by emailing support@swoosh.africa. Please note that opting out will remove ABSA Bank as a payment option.

    What transactions can be refunded?

    All standard banking or debit card transactions are eligible for refunds.
    *Currently, credit card transactions cannot be refunded.

    When are refunds processed?

    Refunds are handled by SWOOSH Secure Payments twice daily, Monday to Friday, at 09:00 am and 12:00 pm.
    • Refunds requested before 12:00 pm will reflect within 48 hours.
    • Refunds requested after 12:00 pm will reflect within 72 hours.
